Bill Golden

Bill Golden is one of those all-too-rare public servants who has made a career of crusading for the public good.  As former City Solicitor for Quincy, Massachusetts, he brought about the cleanup of Boston harbor as well as a corrupt political system.  As Massachusetts State Senator he forced his state to comply with the 1972 Clean Water Act and pushed through legislature leading to the creation of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.  He has received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Silver Medal and the David. B. Stone Award.

Now, Bill Golden has even bigger cod to fry.  He has founded the National Institute for Coastal and Harbor Infrastructure with the goal of preemptively protecting our nation from the very imminent and real threats of new super storms and rising sea levels facing our unprepared waterside cities.  Using the proven technology of storm surge barriers and a business-beneficial funding plan, Bill is actively advocating for the erection of new structures which cost a mere fraction of the next storm’s damage.  Further, Bill has bought and refitted the former lightship Nantucket and is readying it for a north American coastal circumnavigation to create climate change and harbor vulnerability awareness.
